THE consecration ceremony for the seven-storey high rajagopuram (main tower) at the Sri Subramaniar Temple in Gunung Cheroh was held on July 4, 2014 in a low key manner in respect of the late Sultan of Perak Sultan Azlan Shah. It was strictly a religious affair with only prayers and the chanting of mantras during the consecration ceremony. I did drive past the temple with my aunt at that time but did not go in as there were many people. At the request of my aunt, we went there last weekend as she wanted to have a look at the temple after all the restoration work has been completed.
