JICAMA

The sengkuang (Pachyrhizus erosus) shown here were on sale at the Farmer's market.  Initially I thought they were some other fruit but after confirmation from the seller, I was sure they were what I thought they were. The ones normally sold at the market looked much older as the skin was harder and darker in colour.  I regret not buying a bunch to see how they tasted.  In English it is known as Jicama and also Yam Bean.
