If I remember I will usually make my students do some planting on their birthdays. I usually do so on my own birthday. The idea is to inspire people to plant, nurture, and celebrate Nature.
As it is. Vasan already loves to plant things and so he was very happy when I asked him to plant the Remayung and Daun Kesom on his birthday. He had help from his classmate Anaod.
