A few years ago I managed to buy a few stalks of white Bunga Kantan (Torch Flower) from the Sitiawan Market but then there was no more on sale. Ever since I have been on the look out for the white variety. Finally I managed to find some at the Kampung Simee market in Ipoh. According to the lady, the white ones taste the same as the pink Kantan that she usually sells. I bought a few stalks to make laksa. Too bad I can't plant them using the stems.
