The sight of these lovely Malaysian Sakura flowers blooming profusely on the trees lining the route to work is what I have been rewarded with for the past couple of weeks. In Japan they refer to the act of viewing the sakura in bloom as Hanami (花見, "flower viewing"). It is a Japanese traditional custom of enjoying the beauty of flowers.
What I have the pleasure to view are not really sakuras. The plant is scientifically as Tabebuia rosea.
