WOODEN RICE BUCKET FOR THE NEW YEAR

The wooden rice bucket pictured above is being sold at a hypermarket. They are usually on sale in the run up to the lunar new year as the Chinese are very particular about the vessel to hold their rice.  On new year's eve, the rice bucket or container must be filled to the brim to symbolise a plentiful year ahead.  The Chinese character pasted on the wooden bucket is 'full'.
