WHAT??? TOM HARDY TO PLAY ELTON JOHN!!!

Those of you who have watched Batman: The Dark Knight Rises, will be familiar with the character Bane played by British actor, Tom Hardy.  Besides the villain Bane, Hardy has tackled many other roles and most of them are of tough guys.

The latest news I read was that Tom Hardy would be taking on the role of Elton John in a biopic about this legendary musician.  From what I remember of Elton John, he is far from macho.  Aiyoh.  To get such a tough looking actor (tattoos and all)  to play him. Did they get the wrong guy?
I am sure the producer and director know what they were doing when they made their choice.  After all, Tom Hardy is  known as one of the world’s most versatile actors, and like others at the top of their craft, he has proven his ability to transform himself completely into the character or subject found in the material.  So I wouldn't be surprised that he would nail the role of Elton John to a T.
I am looking forward to watch the completed biopic.  Mark my words, this Hardy fella might one day be in contention for an Oscar given his acting prowess and his choice of roles.  And oh, two other countrymen of his might jolly well be receiving nominations for this award - Hiddleston and Cumberbatch.
