VISITING MY OLD SCHOOL

Last Friday I had the chance to visit the first school that I was posted to after I graduated from Teacher's Training College.  The school is in Kampung Kinjang in the Batang Padang district.  As the school is located near an Orang Asli (aborigines) settlement, almost half the pupils are aborigines.
It was really deja vu for me.  I had fond memories of the place, the people I worked with and the children I taught.
Here is the main building of the school.  When I taught there the school only had 6 classes from Standar 1 - 6.
This garden did not exist when I was teaching there.
The area I am pointing to is where I used to plant vegetables as my school project.  Yeah, even way back then I loved planting things.
The building I am pointing to did not exist.  It is a surau for the Muslims to pray.
This is also a new building.  It is used for remedial teaching.

The boys toilet.
Me in the classroom where I used to teach.

The canteen.  The area for the students have been widened.

Me sitting on a platform that did not exist during my time.
