My hometown Ipoh is famous for its friend sar kot (fried turnip). I grew up eating this in Ipoh and had really taken them for granted. Only when I lived in other parts of the country did I realise how tasty the ones in Ipoh are and it is also not so readily available in other parts of the country. So if you go to Ipoh, the fried Sar Kot is a must-try.
However, not all stalls in Ipoh serve delicious ones. So one has to know where to go.
