CHARITY FOOD FAIR BY BUDDHIST ASSOCIATION

I had been reading about the Food Fair organised by the Ipoh Buddhist Dhamma Association for weeks in the newspapers.  All the proceeds of the sales would go to a few Non Governmental Organisations, like for instance the Animal Shelter in Tambun, the Anning Home, The Children's Home, The Salvation Army and the Tzu Chi Merit Society.
My aunt and I had gone there with the purpose of contributing to these societies by buying the food sold there.  Actually the food that was sold was nothing to shout about but the cause was.
Lai Yoong's Aunt Josephine (right) was there to help out as she is a member of the Buddhist Association.
Visitors to the Fair were entertained by a group singing Buddhist Hymns in English.

Not all the food sold were vegetarian.  I had made the mistake of buying a packet of fried noodles and only discovered that it was not vegetarian when I had one spoonful of it.  Luckily for me, I realised in time and spat everything out.  Then I went and brushed my teeth and rinsed my mouth (twice, mind you) as I am on the last day of my 9-day vegetarian diet.
