2-IN-1 CEREMONY

Haji Hasnin turns 57 today but we celebrated his birthday with him yesterday (which also happens to be his daughter Nabilah's 14th birthday).  We requested Ustaz Fauzi to say thanksgiving prayers for him, Nabilah and also his grand daughter, Nayly who turns one this Sunday.  At the same time, Ustaz Fauzi also led the prayers for a safe pilgrimage to Mecca for Kamariah and her husband, Khairi.  So this is a 2-in-1 ceremony.
Ustaz Fauzi leading the prayers for Haji Hasnin, his daughter and grandaughter.  All three are born in September.

Everyone prayed for a safe journey and successful pilgrimage for Kamariah and her husband.  She will be in Mecca for 47 days.  When she comes back, we will get to call her Hajah Kamariah.
After the prayer ceremony, Baz began to light the candles for Haji Hasnin's birthday cake.  Since there were so many candles, it took her some time to get them all lit.
Carrying the cake to the birthday boy.
After he made his wish, our birthday boy fanned out the flames of the candles instead of blowing them out.
 Cutting the cake.
The main menu for the Jamuan was Bihun Sup (Vermicelli with Chicken Soup)
Then you can see the attendees happily enjoying the food.  Whoever came to the library was invited to join in.  The only ones that were specially invited were Haji Hasnin, Ustaz Fauzi (who led the prayers) and our former colleague, Kak Zee.
 Asiah and Baz.
 Rosnin and Norma.
 Hasnin, Me and Kak Zee.
The birthday boy, the Hajah-to-be, the retired colleague and the Herb Fairy.
