BAMBOO SHOOT

Heh!Heh!  Yesterday morning I spotted a fresh young bamboo shoot growing from the one in the college grounds.  This shoot is delicious when cooked with coconut milk.

Here you see me harvesting the young shoot.  

Gotta work a bit hard to cut it off as this will be my dinner.

Yes almost got it.

Here is the harvested bamboo shoot.  I am not good at making this dish and so enlisted the help of someone to cook it for me.

I spotted another shoot sprouting out from another clump of bamboo.  Yes, I will be eyeing this as well.

Below you see the luscious bamboo plant.  In Malay this species is known as Buluh Madu.  Its scientific name is "Gigantochloa albociliata".
