RUBBING BUDDHA'S BELLY FOR GOOD LUCK

The Laughing Buddha or Hotei is admired for his happiness, plenitude, and wisdom of contentment. One belief popular in folklore maintains that rubbing his belly brings wealth, good luck, and prosperity and that is why many worshippers who visit temples would not resist doing so.
When I was with my Aunt Linda at the Kuan Yin Cave Temple in Gunung Rapat I got her to demonstrate rubbing the Buddha's belly for the pictures above.  But instead she rubbed His right hand.
