NEW FURNITURE FOR A NEW YEAR

Before the Chinese New Year, the Chinese would throw away  furniture that is broken or spoilt and buy new ones.  If you feel that it is wasteful, then you can always send the old furniture for recycling. This Chinese practice this "in with the new and out with the old" concept for auspicious reasons.
Getting rid of the old stuff is a way to make room for all of the good things that are expected to come together with the New Year.
