This weekend I visited the Kinta Riverfront with Aunt Linda, Lai Yoong and her two aunts, Josephine and Pinky. We really have to thank Aunt Josephine for telling us about the refurbished Riverfront which has been installed with colourful lighting at the riverbank that had been earmarked to be a “happening” area in the city. The lighting was installed in August to beautify the place and set up so that they shone right to the water and changed colours after a few minutes.
I really have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by how pretty a sight the Riverfront looked with all the lighting. In addition, there were some Chinese Cultural activities being carried out during the weekend and visitors to the place were treated to cultural shows, paper cuttings demonstrations and bonsai exhibits. There were also stalls selling Chinese New Year biscuits and other types of products. The place was indeed really happening. Hopefully, this type of activities will be carried out frequently.
