As yesterday was a public holiday, I had time to go for a hair cut. For the Chinese, if they wish to have a hair cut, then they should have it done before New Year's eve as anything during Chinese New Year is considered bad luck. To the Chinese receiving a hair-cut symbolizes a fresh start for a new year.
