The watermelons that I usually see being sold in the market and at supermarkets are of the round type. When I saw oblong shaped ones sold at the market, I bought one. I wanted to see if there was any difference in taste. After cutting it open and eating a slice, I can tell you that whether round or oblong, the taste is just about the same. I bet you those super expensive ones that are heart shaped and cube shaped taste the same as well.
