Where it comes to tortoise buns or Ang Ku, there is a bit of difference in practices in the Tow Boh Keong temples in Ipoh and Ayer Tawar. In Ipoh, we need to buy the buns from the stalls and use them as offerings inside the temple. In Ayer Tawar, I couldn't find any stalls selling the tortoise buns. Instead some well-wishers would make the buns, offer them to the deities and then the Ang Ku is given free to those who visit the temple.
