Today is the 20th day of the 7th lunar month. It is still that time of the year when many Chinese shy away from undertaking major projects or "risky" activities during the Hungry Ghost Festival. Many Chinese would not carry out any renovation or marriages during this month. Some home owners will choose to delay major work until after the Hungry Ghost Festival. Similarly many couples intentionally avoid the seventh lunar month as they consider it bad luck. They will wait and hold on until the eighth lunar month, which is the most auspicious to marry.
