There was a Cultural Festival at Dataran Ipoh last weekend and I happened to drop by on the last day. Too bad for me and my aunt as the festival was drawing to a close at that time and there were not much that we could see.
However, we managed to check out the Chinese Cultural Booth. Lucky me got a free calligraphy name written by the sifu below.
Here you see the sifu getting ready the paper for the calligraphy. His assistant is pouring the ink for him.
He slowly unfolds the special paper. I think it is called rice paper.
You can see me looking on as the sifu writes my surname, "Cheah".
Tada. The calligraphy for my name in Chinese.
The sifu is holding up his lovely piece of calligraphy.
