USING BETEL LEAVES TO CURE COLIC

How do we get rid of the wind or colic in baby's tummy? One traditional cure is by using "daun sireh" or betel leaves.  You can buy them from an Indian shop or from the market.  You need about 3 leaves. Either heat the daun sireh on a frying pan without oil / water or over a lighted candle.
Once it is quite hot, take the leaves out and test it against your skin. Make sure it doesn't burn.
Then place the leaves on baby's tummy covering the navel and then wrap it around with a napkin that is folded horizontally like a belt across the tummy.
After half an hour, you should hear baby break wind.
