KINTA RIVER

Ipoh settlement was founded in the late 1800s on the banks of the Kinta River (Malay: Sungai Kinta). This river is in Perak, Malaysia. The river gives its name to the Kinta Valley which surrounds Ipoh.There are many limestone hills in this area and there used to be many tin mines.
