After discovering the birth of the kittens in the Herb Garden, I decided to go and buy some milk for the mother cat so that she has more nutritious food in order to produce more milk to feed her babies. Kama suggested that I buy the milk in the small packet form as I could just pour it out on to a saucer to feed the cat.
Here you see me feeding the milk to the cat. It is used to me and so knows that I am a friend.
While mama cat was slurping her milk, her babies were sleeping soundly in the box.
Mama cat was very hungry and drank the milk without noticing her human visitors.
A larger view of the kittens.
Slurp, slurp, slurp
My colleague, Hambali petting the kitten. He used a board to shelter the cat family yesterday evening as he worried that it might rain heavily at night.
As Hambali lives in the staff quarters in school, I bought more milk and passed it to him so that he could feed mama cat for me. So he is now the unofficial 'artificial' wet nurse for the cat.
