My nephew, Keefe and his friends, Wei Wen and Sean came to Ipoh this weekend to take part in the Century Ride. The 6th Ipoh Century Ride was flagged off from Kinta Riverfront Hotel, Ipoh at 7.00 a.m. on 15th July 2012. Other than being part of the century long trail, the event rewarded finishers of the 160 km route a 3D pewter medal as a remembrance of participation.
My aunt and I arrived late at Kinta Riverfront and we missed the flag off. We told ourselves that we'd be there to welcome the boys when they hit the finish line but then we were late again. The boys finished the race before 1.00 p.m. while we arrived at 2.05 p.m. At that time there were only 500 out of 1800 riders that had not made it to the finish line yet.
