USING CITRUS TO WARD OFF THE EVIL EYE

Chillies and lemons are often hung as a talisman at the entrance of shops, houses etc in India to ward off the ‘evil eye’ or drishti (in Hindi).  LINK

Hindus are great believers of the power of citrus fruits.  If you go to an Indian shop, you might notice lemons being hung on the entrance or at the windows. The Indians believe that the lemons will help to ward off the evil eye, according to Hindu superstitious beliefs.
The Hindus also believe that oranges and lemons are powerful symbols of fortune, and bring prosperity to the home. Again, they should be placed at the entrance.
