TORTOISE SHELL GLASSES

I got myself a new pair of prescription glasses. This time around I opted for a pair of tortoise shell glasses. They are so called because such glasses were originally made out of either horn or tortoise shell. However, nowadays they are actually constructed out of thick plastics designed to resemble those materials. Tortoise shell glasses are characterized by their bold appearance on the wearer's face.
