Thean Chun Coffee Shop is one of the oldest eating places in Ipoh. It is actually located adjacent to the Kong Heng Coffee Shop. People would usually say that they are going to Kong Heng for lunch instead of to Thean Chun. This was the case with my sister's family. They told me to meet them at Kong Heng but instead I found them at Thean Chun. I guess people just associate one with the other.
Thean Chun is famous for the Kai See Hor Fun (Shredded Chicken Rice Noodle Soup), chee cheong fun, herbal tea with egg and caramel custard. Go early if you wish to get a place. It is usually packed during lunch time.
By the way, you can also order the food from Kong Heng next door, except the drinks.
