POSING IN FRONT OF THE K.D. RAHMAT WARSHIP MUSEUM

The majestic warship that you see behind Kamariah and I is the K.D. Rahmat. This warship was decommissioned on 19 December 2003. The Royal Malaysian Navy decided to hand over the Ex Rahmat frigate to the Perak State Department to be developed into a museum ship as part of an historical monument and recreational site for Lumut.  The frigate has been renovated into a maritime museum incorporating a boutique hotel, bistro, hanging bridge and jetty at a cost of Ringgit 2.1 million.  It is berthed at the Lumut Waterfront.
Both of us were there at around 1.00 p.m. and the K.D. Rahmat was not open.  Perhaps, it was lunch time.  We had wanted to go in to have a look and to snap pictures.  Perhaps, we will get to visit on our next trip.
