LUMUT WATERFRONT

My friends and are consider ourselves very blessed to be living in a place which is within a short distance of tourist resorts like Pangkor Island, Teluk Batik and Lumut. If we want to relax, we just need to take a ferry to one of the islands to unwind. If not we could just go to the jetty to take in the sea breeze or take a walk along the waterfront to exercise and to relax.
Here I share with you pictures that were taken by Lai Yoong and me at the Lumut Waterfront.
When I was first posted to Manjung in 1995, the place which is now called The Lumut Waterfront did not look as grand as it does today. As a matter of fact it was just a stretch of beach with a old looking windmill and some benches. The Lumut Waterfront is a newly buildt park on the north side of Lumut, next to the Lumut International Yacht Club. It is meant to be a recreation park. It is a popular spot for many locals from the Manjung area to hang out during the weekends and holidays. During weekdays you can also find people who come early from work or school children.

MORE TO COME
Actually the promenade of the Lumut Waterfront begins at the ferry terminal, goes on for about 2 kilometres and ends where the K.D. Rahmat is docked.  Lai Yoong and I only covered less than 1/2 a kilometre of the promenade.  We will finish covering the route next week.  So watch out for more pictures.
