MAKING HERBAL CONCOCTIONS IN THE KITCHEN

Sunday is the day when I prepare a lot of herbal concoctions for the week ahead.  I would usually boil at least 25 types of herbs to make into a herbal bath for my mum.  This would help to chase away the wind in her body, aid blood circulation and strengthen her bones. You can see me with some of the leaves that I'd be boiling for my mum's bath.
I will also blender enough pandanus leaves with water, remove the blended leaves to make into a bath for my mum.

You can see the Flower Fairy with the blended pandan essence in the kitchen.  The essence will be kept in the fridge and my mum will add it to her bath somewhere in the middle of the week.  I have instructed her to add 7 pomelo leaves and 7 kaffir lime leaves to the bath.  This type of bath would help to energise her Chi.  My mum is in a depressive mood lately after she found out that my sister, Li Mei, has to undergo hip replacement surgery in December, and so she definitely needs to take the bath to get rid of the negative Chi that she has accumulated.
Besides making the herbal baths for my mum, I also make a herbal drink for myself by blending two dwarf bitter gourds, one cucumber, one carrot, one capsicum, two stalks of celery leaves, one green apple and a handful of basil leaves.  This concoction is believed to help treat stress, hypertension and also diabetes.
