DEVIL'S BACK DOOR
The Form School of Feng Shui places strong emphasis on the Northeast and Southwest sections of a house. Why? It is because these two locations are called the 'Devil's Gate' positions. It is believed that when a house has its door opening out to the Northeast it sort of invites evil spirits to enter. This is especially true when both the front and back doors are being located in the 'Devil's Gate' positions. The cure is to relocate the rear or Northeast door as Northeast is the major 'Devil's Gate' position.
In Vaasthu Sastra, the southwest is in the negative field and is considered the Devil's direction. In both Chinese Feng Shui and Vasthu Sastra, the northeast to southwest axis is dangerous. The northeast is called "The Gate of the Devil" and the southwest is called "The Backdoor of the Devil." The northeast is associated with volition which across the spectrum of eastern thought has strong negative connotations.
The best siting for a house is West facing East where the rising sun greets you with its vibrant energy when you open the door of your house every day. Letting sunlight come into your house is a sure way of eliminating harmful germs and bacteria and to usher in yang chi.
By the way, the house that I am staying in sits West and Faces East. Yeah!!!
