BLOODSHOT EYES AFTER MIGRAINE ATTACK

I had a migraine attack last night.   It was not as bad as the ones that I normally suffer from but it was still very painful.  Actually I was already seeing some flashing lights earlier yesterday morning but took no heed of the warning of an imminent attack. I became nauseous in the early hours of the morning and started vomiting. As a result of the attack, I ended up with one bloodshot eye.  When I took the pictures tonight, my eye was slightly better.  It was worse in the evening when I looked into the mirror.
For your information, my bloodshot eye is actually an inflammation.  This happens when the blood vessels become inflamed and they become more red and prominent in the eye. Actually, this type of bloodshot eye, or red eye is common in migraine.
By the way, sometimes my eyes become really swollen instead of becoming bloodshot. This is a common symptom of a cluster headache. I sometimes wonder when some of my students keep insisting that they have a migraine and want to go to the hospital to consult a doctor but they do not have any of the symptoms that I have. I suspect that what they have is just a bad headache.
