USING PANDAN LEAVES IN KITCHEN CABINET

One of my favourite herbs is the Pandanus or Screwpine Tree.  Here in Malaysia, we refer to it as Daun Pandan or Pandan leaves.  In traditional medicine, the entire plant is used as a diuretic, the roots are said to be good to combat diabetes and the leaves for treating skin diseases.
However, the pandan leaves are used more for culinary purposes.  Besides that, they can be used to repel cockroaches.  It seems that cockroaches can't stand the smell of pandan. Yeah, you just need to get a few leaves, knot them together and place them in the kitchen cabinet, cupboards and drawers to keep the cockroaches at bay.  And yes, the drawers and closets would also be rid of unpleasant odours.  My kitchen cabinets and drawers smell good after I place these leaves in there.  Wow! Natural insect repellent and natural air freshener. Do give it a try!
