When Lai Yoong and I reached Ayer Tawar at around 5.45 p.m. yesterday, we found out that the fire walking ceremony had already been carried at around 5.00 p.m. We were too late to witness this very interesting ritual on the last day of the 9 Emperor Gods Festival.
When we went to the other temple, we found that the charcoal pit was already laid with incense paper covering them. Kerosene had also been poured over the charcoal to enable them to be lit easily. However, we were too early for the fire walking ceremony of this temple as it was scheduled to begin only at 9.00 p.m. Shucks!
