I CHANCED UPON A PROCESSION

On my way back from Ipoh to Sitiawan this evening, I stopped by at the Ayer Tawar Tow Boh Keong Temple to buy some vegetarian food for my breakfast tomorrow.  I hadn't realised that today was the day that the temple was holding its annual procession for the Nine Emperor Gods Festival.  Of course, I stayed to join in the excitement and of course, I took lots and lots of photographs.  The ones you see above were before the start of the procession.
There are photographs of mediums going into a trance and also devotees whose cheeks were being pierced with skewers.  Please watch out for the photographs and stories beginning tomorrow as I need to edit and watermark them first.
