When I was at the Tow Boh Keong Temple in Ipoh on Saturday morning, I saw the temple volunteers setting up a feast for a prayer ritual. Besides the food, drinks, joss-sticks and candles, there were also a few containers of joss paper which would be burnt during the ceremony.
After I made some enquiries, I realised that the special ceremony was to pray for the souls of deceased volunteers and resident vegetarians during past 9 Emperor Gods Festivals.
