9 EMPEROR GODS FESTIVAL: PLAYING WITH BOILING OIL

The cauldron with pieces of Joss paper and some lallang will be filled with oil and heated to boiling point.  Then at around 8.00 p.m., mediums at the Ayer Temple who are in a trance will take their turns to play with the boiling oil.
As I have something to do at home, I did not wait to watch the ritual.  However, here is a video of mediums in another temple playing with boiling oil.  Enjoy!
