PISANG BERANGAN

I was given this big bunch of Pisang Berangan (when translated it reads, Dreamy Banana) by one of my colleagues.  She gave them to me last Tuesday but until today the fruit has not ripened.  I was told that to quicken the ripening process I have to add calcium carbide.  Hmm ... I think I will just wait and let nature take its course.

I tasted my friend's Steamed Banana Cake last Sunday and I got her to give me the recipe.

7 big bananas
1 1/4 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup oil
2 1/2 cup flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
3/4 tsp soda bicarbonate
4 eggs

1. Mix oil & sugar.
2. Mix eggs, flour, baking powder & soda bicarbonate.
3. Smash the bananas.
4. Mix all (1 to 3) together and steam for 45 minutes.

P/S my friend used pisang rajah.
