On the first and fifteenth day of the Chinese calendar, the Buddhists and Taoists will place offerings of candles, flowers, water, food and incense on the altar. Today is the fifteenth day of the eighth lunar month in which the Chinese celebrate the Mid-autumn festival.
When I was back in Ipoh yesterday, I brought my mum to buy flowers as offerings to Kuan Yin. According to my aunt, flowers are a must as offerings for special festive days.
