This picture of Kamariah and me was taken by Haji Hasnin outside the crematorium when we left the place to go back to school. The two of them asked me why a few of the ladies were picking up the joss paper with a patch of silver in the middle after it had been scattered by the people accompanying the hearse.
I was told by my godmother that if we pick up such papers and use them to rub on a part of our body that has corns, then it can help to heal it. If my memory serves me, the same paper could be used to help rid one of bad luck if used to rub on ones body and then burnt.
