OFFERINGS OF CHRYSANTHEMUMS FOR THE DEITIES

When I was at the market yesterday morning, I heard a vendor calling out, "RM1 for a bunch of flowers."  Was it for real?  Indeed it was.  Somehow, there was a glut in the farm for these chrysanthemums and they were selling them for RM1.  The flowers were fresh and in good condition.  Once in a while when supply is more than demand, the people from the farm would come and sell their produce at the markets.
There were also some bunches of flowers that they would be giving to the temple that were kept in the van.  One of the men told me that they would be sending them later in the day.
I bought 8 bunches of chrysanthemums for RM8.  I made offerings of the flowers to the deities at the Jade Emperor temples and the deities in my homes in Ipoh and Sitiawan.  Hmm ... I must have been very lucky to have gone to the market on a Sunday when the two men had come to sell such cheap flowers.
