BRINGING FOOD FOR HIS FRIENDS

Every day I read about mean people who do nasty things to others in the newspapers and this is a real downer for me.  However, I know that there are actually more good people than bad ones on this earth.  There are also certain individuals who go out of their way to do charitable work and good deeds to others.  I met such a person when I went for my weekly visit to the temple last Sunday. 
I had parked my car near a tree and was getting ready to alight when I saw a man getting out from his car and opening the boot.  He brought out a few bags of food and placed them by the five foot way of a shop.  I got out from the car and had a chat with him.  It seems that he comes very often to feed the stray dog living around the area.  The man then excused himself and went again to his car boot to take out more food.  He told me that his friends from up the hill would be coming down shortly.  I had imagined that a few of his friends had gone up to the temple to pray but to my surprise, his friends were the monkeys who lived there.  When I complimented him for his kindness, he told me that it was what little he could do for the animal and besides he earns merit for doing so.
