PRAYING AT THE STUPA

Thanks to mum having to answer a call of nature I got to visit a Tibetan Buddhist Temple in Tambun.  Actually the temple is under renovation and the part that we got to see was a Stupa. For those of you who don't have the slightest idea of what a Stupa is, then let me enlighten you.
In Buddhism, the Stupa is a universal symbol of an enlightened mind.  Stupa works with us on many different conscious and subconscious levels.  The Buddhists believe that Stupas generate and transform energy.  They get their energy from nature, then focus and redistribute it.  Anothe belief is that, Stupas have great protective powers.  They are said to be charged with positive energy which helps them to pacify and transform sources of negative power.
In the above pictures taken by me, the lady was walking around the Stupa in a clockwise direction.  She told me that one can walk around the structure for about three times but one can do more rounds if one so wishes.  I saw that she walked many, many rounds.  It is believed that one absorbs the beneficial influence of the Stupa into our lives by walking in such a direction round this structure.  Buddhists believe that wishes done near a Stupa might just come true.
