LEMON GRASS & PANDAN DRINK TO GET RID OF WIND



Many of my friends complain that they have a lot of 'wind" especially the married ladies.  It is this 'wind' that is causing them a lot of discomfort and also aches.  We can always buy ginger tea or garlic pills to help ease the problem.  
However, I would like to introduce a herbal drink that we can make on our own that would help us get rid of 'wind'.  Since we are making it from natural herbs, then there are no preservatives and it is more potent.  The concoction I am going to introduce today involves using lemon grass and pandan leaves.  
Below are some of the benefits one gets from drinking the combination of the lemon grass and pandan leaves:

  • helps us to be mentally alert;
  • the drink is invigorating;
  • soothing;
  • eases indigestion;
  • gets rid of 'wind' (gas) thus reducing stomach discomfort, aches and pains;
  • improves blood circulation;
  • reduces water retention;
  • improves the skin by reducing pimples and acne;
  • detoxifies.
Here is the recipe for the drink:
Ingredients
6 stalks of lemon grass or serai
2- 3 Pandan Leaves
1/2 inch Ginger
8 cups of water
Two lumps of rock sugar

Method
1. Wash lemongrass. Pound the lower portion
2. In a pot, bring water, pandan leaves and lemongrass to the boil. Simmer over low heat for 15 - 20 minutes. Add rock sugar and boil till sugar dissolves
3. Serve warm.
