Mandi Bunga or Bathing with Flowers is a natural way to keep ones body attractive and healthy. It is also used in Malaysia to get rid of bad luck or cleanse the body of evil. Ritual baths are believed to give healing and medicinal benefits to to the body, mind and soul.
The use of water as the main ingredient in the bath is because water is one of the elements. It calms the mind, heightens consciousness and cleanses spiritually.
It is usually the ladies who indulge in Mandi Bunga as they want to keep their bodies attractive and healthy. There are different types of ingredients used for different types of Flower Baths. Some baths are for brides to be and some are for maidens who want to be attractive to attract suitors. There are also ritual baths to heal the body of ailments, baths to get rid of bad luck and baths to rid the body of hexes, curses or spells. Men do go for Mandi Bunga but in their case they usually do it to get rid of bad luck and to attract money luck.
One bath which involves bathing with flowers of 5 different colours and a lemon would help improve sexual relationships between married couples. However, one must carry out this type of Mandi Bunga regularly for it to be effective.
