PAYING HOMAGE TO LORD BUDDHA ON WESAK DAY

Today is a public holiday as it is Wesak Day.  However, I did not go back to Ipoh as I just came back to Sitiawan on Sunday night.  Besides, my mum is feeling much better and so I need not worry too much.
As it is Wesak (also spelt as Vesak) Day, I met Lai Yoong and her hubby at the Buddhist Temple in Kampung Koh in the morning.

Like me, they had gone to pay their homage to Lord Buddha on the most sacred of days in the Buddhist calendar.  Wesak is the day that Prince Siddharta Gautama was born, the ascetic Siddharta gained Enlightenment and it was on this very day that The Buddha passed away. Wow!  What a hattrick!

Below are pictures I took at the temple this morning.  It was quite early and so there were not that many people yet.  Many of the devotees had gone and sought blessings from the monks.
