During the weekends, I drove my mum to the prayer paraphernalia shop in Ipoh so that she could buy some paper products to burn for my maternal grandparents when I go pay my respects to them next week at Sam Poh Caves.
Aiyoh! Nowadays, the merchandise for the dearly departed have become hi-tech: there are paper massage chairs, I-pads and other electronic items.
One wonders if the spiritual beings will be able to make use of the stuff 'sent' to them by their living relatives. And I always have the idea that once a person is dead, the body perishes and what is left is the soul. Hmm ...
