Some people are extra sensitive and superstitious when they hear someone who is young and healthy buying a burial plot. Hey, do you know that some people invest in burial plots like they invest in real estate? Yeah, the prices for these plots escalate over time.
In Feng Shui, there is also Yin and Yang. The Feng Shui practised by living people is known as Yang while that for the dead is known as Yin. The Chinese believe that the location of the burial plots of their forefathers will effect their fortunes.
My dad's ashes are interned at the Paradise Memorial Park. When we bought the lot for my late father, we bought one that can accomodate two urns. The other one would be for my mum. Hey, there is nothing sinister or bad about buying ones final resting place. As a matter of fact, my aunt will also be buying a lot near to my parents'. I too will buy a burial site in the same Memorial Park. I asked that day and the price starts at around RM12,000 for the graves. In contrary, the Chinese say that buying and keeping ones own burial lot or plot would be mighty auspicious. It may even lead to one living to a ripe old age.
