DO NOT PLUCK OR CUT LEAVES AFTER THE SUN SETS

A studenf of mine asked if the Herb Garden had a herb called Sirih.  I told her there was and she promptly asked if she could have some as her little nephew was having a case of inflamed testicles.  Her mum read that the leaves of the sirih plant can be used to bring down the swelling.
When she asked me for the leaves,  it was already 5.30 in the evening.  This is the time when the spirits can start coming out to play.  So I decided to cut the leaves for the girl instead of letting her do the plucking.  The Chinese have a belief that it it unwise to cut or pluck the leaves as it might cause some spirit trouble later on.  We should do the plucking before the sun sets or before the Asar Prayer Time.
