ROSELLE

My colleagues and I sell Herbal Drinks in school on Wednesday. This is an activity that we have been carrying out for the Resource Centre for 3 years already.  Besides helping to promote the benefits of Herbs, we also get to add to the library fund with the money earned.
Since I saw the roselle being sold at the market on Sunday, I bought RM10 worth to make into a drink for the sale on Wednesday.
There are two types of roselle flowers.  The one above that I bought from the market is the bigger type.  There is another with smaller flowers.
Before I boil the roselle, I wash and give them a good soak in the basin first.
Then I would place them in a plate before I remove the seed from the flower.
After that I put the petals to boil.  I later add brown sugar after boiling them for around 20 to 30 minutes.

Hi Miss Cheah, would it be possible to use Rose petals and make Rose water (like the the red coloured syrup sold in bottles) using the same procedure?

Yes, you can. Actually the Chinese medicine shops also sell the dried rose buds. It is good for health.
